So, I have my first sports injury ever.
After my 14 mile last-long-run-before-tapering-before-the-race run/walk combo on Saturday, I was fine. I felt great. Proud, elated, I had done it - per Lance Armstrong on my fabulous Nike+, it was my “longest run ever”.
Woke up Sunday, and I thought something was on my ankle - even freaked [...]
Feeling Human
Honestly, most times I feel pretty strong; stronger than the average bear, I guess, both mentally and physically.
Recently, my half-marathon training has taken me down a peg or two. Or ten. Twenty.
I’ve been struggling. I can’t seem to run consistently for long periods, up hills, or for miles. I was ecstatic last week when I [...]
Runner’s High
When does the runner’s high occur? I’d really like to experience it. I haven’t, yet. I’m running about 25 miles a week, but I’m more of a sweaty, panting mess than one who experiences an exercise euphoria.

Running With Scissors

Morning Run
I’m truly enjoying getting back into running - it kind of feels like I’m rediscovering myself, if that makes any sense. After too many years of half-hearted exercise attempts (even with a triathlon or two in there), this running regime is getting me back to the avid exerciser I used to be.
My half-marathon training plan [...]
Consistency

We were away on vacation last week (Niagara Falls, no postings because I couldn’t get my computer to connect to the hotel’s wifi), and, frankly, I was worried about it. As you’ll come to find out, I’ve been on a roller-coaster struggle with my weight for a while now. Gosh, has it been 10 years? [...]
Yoda Tells Me To Do a Half Marathon
Filed under: Half marathon training, Tile grout, Yoda
So, I think I’m going to do a half marathon in the fall. I know, I know - my life motto is, to paraphrase Yoda, “There is no maybe or I’ll try, there is only yes or no.” What I should have said was, I ABSOLUTELY have COMMITTED to running a half marathon. In [...]
